Cooling fluids and a thermostat are used to regulate the engine temperature.

The latter makes sure the engine gets to and maintains its proper operating temperature as rapidly as feasible. Overheating in the engine might be caused by a broken or clogged thermostat. Devastating engine damage may ensue from this.
