The compressor for the air conditioner is where the system's power comes from. Normally, the engine's belt drive is used to drive it directly. The gaseous refrigerant in the air conditioning circuit must be adsorbent and compressed by it.
If the compressor suffers mechanical damage, it is also advisable to repair the condenser, heat exchanger, expansion valve, and hoses if there is a possibility that system chips are present.
If other parts' chips are released, the new compressor can then sustain further damage. The risk that a last chip will break off despite flushing the system cannot be completely excluded.
