The air conditioning system's beating heart is the compressor. Typically, it is directly powered by the engine using a belt drive. Adsorbing and compressing the gaseous refrigerant in the air conditioning circuit is its job.
If there is a suspicion that chips are present in the system, the other components of the air conditioning system, including the condenser, heat exchanger, expansion valve, and hoses, should also be replaced in the event that the compressor sustains mechanical damage.
If chips are dislodged from other components, the new compressor can then sustain more damage. Furthermore, flushing the system cannot completely rule out the likelihood that a last chip will break off.
