The hydraulic pressure needed for steering is provided by these hydraulic pumps, which are powered by the motor. Defects brought on by tainted hydraulic fluid or air in the hydraulic system are the main reasons for failure. Without the steering aid, guiding a truck is either impossible or extremely difficult. A faulty power steering pump must therefore always be replaced.
