The wheels are guided by wheel bearings, which also take the forces created by their rotation, such as when cornering, and dissipate them. Particularly when designing, producing, and assembling straight drivetrain components, great care must be used.
Wheel bearings from Ferdinand Bilstein undergo extensive testing in order to guarantee an absolutely reliable absorption of the radial and axial forces that arise during acceleration, braking, and cornering.
Noise during the drive, more bearing play, or an even higher than typical temperature in the wheel hub are all signs of a bad wheel bearing.
If it is not fixed right away, the resultant friction heat could cause damage to the wheel hub, a wheel obstruction, or even a car fire.
