The top of the damper has a bonded rubber bush mounted to it that is fixed to the vehicle's frame as the suspension strut mounting. Of the suspension strut assembly, this is a crucial component. Strut Mountings may also include a bearing or bearing plate, allowing the strut to rotate with the steering wheels.
