Expansion tanks store the coolant. As the temperature rises, the coolant expands, increasing the pressure in the engine cooling system. The fluid pressure is controlled by a pressure valve located in the tank top.
The VLT175 Expansion Tank is commonly made of plastic and can be divided into several chambers. It can be transparent and feature an additional level indicator or an electronic liquid level sensor to ensure that the coolant level is controlled.
