By releasing pressure, expansion valves allow the liquid refrigerant in the evaporator to expand or change state from liquid to vapor. As evaporation heat is absorbed, cold air is available to cool the vehicle's interior.
In the liquid line, the DF1095 Expansion Valve is located between the condenser and the evaporator's inlet. It operates on the other side of the system from the compressor. Thermostatic expansion valves and orifice tube throttle valves are the two types of expansion valves used in air conditioning systems.
