Intercoolers (also known as air coolers) cool compressed air in the compressor before delivering it to the engine in supercharged combustion engines. Lowering the temperature of the air increases its density, which increases the amount of oxygen and fuel available for combustion, increasing engine efficieny (increase in power).
The most popular air cooler construction is identical to that of radiator: the core is aluminum, and the tanks are aluminum or plastic. The KM4028 Intercooler intercooler usually located between the supercharger and the engine.
