The flexible disc dampens the drive train's vibrations and load fluctuations. The flexible disc is required to transfer all of the motor's torque before the drive shaft and differential axles carry it to the wheels. The flexible disc's construction minimizes drive train disruptions and dangerous angular misalignment by absorbing stress and load effects.
