The elastomeric materials employed in the production of rubber-metal components are carefully matched to the technical specifications and loads of their particular fitting location. Despite all of this, passive rubber-metal components are unable to completely dampen the chassis's vibrations. In order to isolate and dampen vibrations, "Hydromounts," which are hydraulically dampening elastomeric bearings, were created.
