The flexible disc absorbs the drive train's vibrations and fluctuations in load. The drive shaft and differential axles must pass all of the motor's torque via the flexible disc before it can be applied to the wheels. The flexible disc's construction absorbs shock and load forces, reduces drive train disruptions, and minimizes dangerous angular misalignment. This lessens the drive train's noise and vibration.
